Biography

Kori Cook graduated from Pacific Union College with her BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Education. In 2013 she graduated with her Master’s in Reading from Webster University. After graduating college in 2001 she taught at Louisville Jr. Academy in Louisville, KY for 4 years in a multi-grade classroom. In 2005 she moved to St. Louis and had the opportunity to be a substitute teacher in several area school districts. Through the years of being a substitute teaching she had the opportunity to teach and be introduced to different types of curriculum, classroom communities and teaching styles. Having attended a multi-grade SDA elementary school, Kori enjoys teaching in a place where she has the opportunity to teach students about God’s love. She also looks forward to experiencing the joys of teaching, to witness the power of learning and the fun challenges it can present.

Biography

Lisa Kijak graduated from Walla Walla University in June 2015 with her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish. Lisa began teaching grades K-4 at Hillcrest in 2015 and enjoys teaching in the middle grades classroom. Kids of all ages energize Mrs. Kijak! To be able to engage students and get them excited to learn is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, doing crafty projects, reading, or listening to music.

Biography

Melissa is a graduate of the University of Missouri St. Louis. After graduation, she taught grades 1-4 at Hillcrest. Melissa took the role of Principal and teacher in 2012 and is currently teaching grades 7-9. Before returning to Hillcrest, Mrs. Morris was a substitute teacher for the Pattonville school district for two years. Before that, she led the Pathfinder program at Central for six years, which is how she discovered her love for teaching and decided to pursue her degree in elementary education. Because Mrs. Morris attended Hillcrest through her entire primary school years, she is personally invested in the vibrancy and success of Hillcrest. She is thrilled to return to her Alma Mater as an educator to help create the scholastic and spiritual environment under which she flourished.
