Simplicity, neatness, cleanliness, appropriateness and modesty are the standards of good taste in dress. To help insure these principles, Hillcrest has established the following dress code:
Dress code for boys
Pants - solid navy, khaki, or black (Please make sure pants and shorts are not low-riding.)
Shorts - solid navy, khaki, or black (uniform-style shorts must be no shorter than 2 inches above knee when standing.) Permitted only on days when the temperature is 70 degrees or above.
Collared shirts - solid color or stripes (no designs or words)
Sweaters - solid color or stripes, no designs or words.
Shoes - tennis shoes
Dress code for girls
Pants – solid navy, khaki, or black (Please no “skinny” and/or “low-riding pants.)
Skirts – solid navy, khaki, or black (must be no more than two inches above the knee when standing. Also should be worn with school-appropriate shorts underneath.)
Shorts -- solid navy, khaki, or black (must be no shorter than two inches above the knee when standing.)
Collared shirts -- solid color or stripes (no designs)
Sweaters—solid color or stripes, no designs other than Hillcrest logo.
Shoes -- tennis shoes
Modesty Guidelines
From time to time, students are allowed to wear casual clothes for events like spirit days, field days, and field trips. We ask that students always meet the following modesty guidelines when dressing for school events:
Avoid tight-fitting or low-cut tops
Sleeveless shirts/ tank-tops are never permitted
Tight jeans, or pants with holes, tears or rips are not appropriate
Shorts and skirts may be no shorter than two inches above the knee
Leggings worn as pants or leggings worn with skirts that are shorter than 2-inches above the knee are not appropriate (Leggings may only be worn with skirts or dresses of the appropriate listed length)
Sheer skirts/dresses that are long in length with a solid skirt underneath that is more than two inches above the knee are not appropriate
All logos, graphics, words/phrases or other writing must be appropriate for a Christian school environment, in other words, carry positive messages and be in line with Biblical standards. Certain graphics, including gargoyles, skulls, wizards, vampires, and other graphics of this nature are not appropriate for school.
Under garments should never be visible
Jewelry is not permitted

Hillcrest red t-shirts and school sweatshirts are provided at registration. The red shirt can be worn with school appropriate jeans (not torn or tight-fitting) on Friday and field trip days.
